Holidays
Last Updated:
Depending on where you live, perhaps you have your own special holiday that you celebrate. The Calendar feature lets you create your own holidays as well. In this page, we’ll discuss about the different holidays that are available, as well as the options you have for creating your own.
Accessing the Calendar
As stated in our Calendar overview page, you can check this feature by clicking the calendar icon on the lower left side of the screen, just below your Sim’s profile icon. The calendar will show the current day as well as upcoming weeks. Clicking on a specific day that has an icon will show you the holiday that’s upcoming.Holidays are celebrated by following the tasks that are listed on the menu. For example, the Harvestfest will require you to Decorate, play with Holiday Gnomes, have a Grand Meal, and have Thankful Spirit. Completing a holiday will make your Sim very happy!
Pre-Made Holidays
In the Sims 4: Seasons, there are four pre-made holidays that happen in each in-game year. They are similar to real life holidays such as Valentines Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Each holiday will happen on a specific season, and you’ll have some set of traditions that you’ll participate in for a successful holiday. Here is the list of Pre-Made holidays available in the game:Icon | Name | Season | Traditions |
---|---|---|---|
Love Day | Spring | ||
Harvest Fest | Fall | ||
Winterfest | Winter | ||
New Year's Eve | Winter |
Decoration Themes: There are decoration themes that you can assign for a holiday where your entire househould will have decorations that can be shown in order to reflect the specific holiday. Through the game’s build mode, search for the following item:
With this item, you can update the look of you house for the holidays. This feature can also be used for custom holidays that you can create. Here is the list of themes that can be chosen.
Surprise Holidays
Aside from the four main holidays, there are surprise holidays that you won’t see in the Calendar often. As the name implies, they are holidays that happen as surprises and they will only appear on the calendar just a few days before they start. Not only that, but they also can happen at any season. Since they are random at nature, you can miss out on these holidays if your Sim has work or if they go to school.Surprise holidays can also be ignored by specific sims, and there are also those who will love these. The list below shows the surprise holidays that are available in the game.
Holiday Traditions
Whenever you look at a specific holiday, there are set activities that you need to do in order for them to be a successful one. These activities are called traditions, and they vary for each holiday that you participate in. You can also have up to 5 traditions for each holiday.Traditions can also be chosen if you’re creating a custom holiday. Here are the different traditions that you’ll be able to find in the Sims 4: Seasons:
